Waterscaping Landscaping Xeriscaping Life in the East Kootenays Archives
Xeriscaping
Xeriscaping is the practice of water conservation in the landscape. This can be achieved by eliminating or reducing water guzzling lawns and incorporating indiginous plant material. Plant selection is crucial here. Once established, plants should grow with little or no supplemental water. Smart water usage (SWU) is the utilization of drip irrigation. Drip emitters send water directly to a plants root ball thus eliminating waste. This is an efficient application that can be administered automatically.
